Restaurant Review: T-Bone’s Grille

Erica Finn Staff Writer

Not only can nobody replace Nana’s cooking, but no one can replace her kitchen either.

T-Bone’s Grille moved in fall of 2010 and seemed to attract many cars for lunch, so my truck happened to fall into the parking lot as well.

T-Bone’s consists of one room- well, one room visible to the public eye. It would seem like your food is coming from a secret Willy Wonka factory in the back of the restaurant.

A place named T-Bone’s offers a Greek salad? WHAT? That’s what I said after eating it too. T-Bone’s should just stick with menu items that were once formed from a bone. They are famous for their “Juicy Lucy” burger, an 8 oz. hamburger patty filled with a mass of cheese.

I will give this burger credit, it fills you up and the right amount of cheese sits right in the middle. Be prepared with napkins before digging in. It’ s juicy, meaning it’s messy. If you eat it as fast as I did, just bring an appetite and some time.

By some time I mean a minimum of an hour for dinner and there is no blaming food on this. I sat in the one-room dining area for 15 minutes alone before I received my house salad that comes with most entrées.

I’m not saying the service is horrible because it isn’t; they are extremely nice and carry out any order that’s asked. I am just saying it’s slow.

I mean, a house salad that takes 15 minutes when I was the only party in the restaurant? There should have been a cut up chicken breast on top or a stopwatch. A great offer that brings T-Bone’s to justice is that kids 10 and under are FREE all the time with an adult purchase.

They also have daily specials you can subscribe to by e-mail. Another great offer for college students is if your meal is over $30, they bring the food to you. So if you are in a dorm and your friends are all hungry, call T-Bone’s!

With the great offers but slow service, I give T-Bone’s two out of five stars.
