The University Program Council has begun a new chapter by introducing the organization’s first ever hype woman.
Olivia Britton now serves in the position alongside UPC Hype Man Brody Gravitt.
“To be UNA’s first Hype Woman is honestly such an honor,” Britton said about her new position. “Now getting to not only represent it, but to get to pour into the student body and give back to this community is so special.”
Britton’s UNA resume includes time with the LaGrange Society, Student Government Association and other organizations.
“As the Hype Woman I will engage students at UPC events and serve as the chant leader at home football games and other athletic events,” Britton said. “I will also have the opportunity to emcee various UPC events and promote upcoming events on social media[.]”
UPC holds many events for UNA’s campus community throughout the academic year, including the Playfair at the beginning of each school year, the Step-Sing competition and the Spring Concert during the spring semester.
Waka Flocka Flame headlined at UNA’s Spring Concert 2025. The concert took place on April 24 at the CB&S Bank Arena, located in Flowers Hall. He was joined by Alabama native, Big Yavo.
Before Flocka’s headlining show, artist Eli Hannon and Co. performed as openers. Hannon’s band, including former UPC Hype Man E.J. Powell, won Battle of the Bands earlier in 2025. The competition determined which local artists would open for the Spring 2025 concert.
UPC’s concert would end up being a sold out show, packing out UNA’s home basketball arena.
