The University Program Council will host the “T-shirt Swap” on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Veterans Garden. Students can stop by from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the chance to trade any rival shirt for some new UNA shirts.
Students are encouraged to bring shirts from the University of Alabama, Auburn University, Jacksonville State University or Troy University.
UPC member Brian Johnson planned the event to both “promote school spirit” and “help students who may not have UNA merch have access” to some shirts.
Johnson is most excited for “helping students have a sense of belonging and school spirit” because “that’s what UPC is all about.”
The shirts this year are the same logo from most of UPC’s events last academic year, but feature a new color.
UPC hosts a number of events throughout the year, with one of the most notable being the annual “Step Sing” production. Every year, student organizations gather together to compete and show off their organized routines.
Winners are crowned for various categories, with Alpha Gamma Delta winning Best Overall, Baptist Campus Ministries winning the Co-Ed Division, Phi Mu winning the women’s, and Pi Kappa Alpha winning the men’s.
Thursday, Sept. 18, UPC will host the Mane Music Month Fest. Two artists, The Rockin’ River Bottom Band and the Greenbriar Band, will perform on stage at the amphitheater on campus at 6:30 p.m.
